Excavator operation precautions

19 Sep, 2018
1. Use a unified signal to work together

If there are more than 2 locomotives working at the same time, the signal officer should be specified, and the

signals, gestures, etc. used should be specified.

2. Working in urban areas

Use the "No Entry" sign to keep others away from the work area. If the operation is carried out in a busy place, a

signalman command should be assigned to prevent the accident from happening.

3. Pay special attention to the operation around the wires

Establish safety measures and assign signallers by calling meetings or consulting with power companies.

4. When the electric motor car touches the wire:

(1) Persons around the machine should be warned not to touch the excavator.

(2) When escaping from the excavator, the method of jumping should be used. Do not use the foot pedal.

5. Confirmation of excavation site (note the structure buried under the ground)

Depending on the site, structures such as sewage pipes, water pipes, gas pipes and cables may be buried

underground. Before starting the operation, you should look at the floor plan of the building structure and make a

clear mark and then proceed with caution.

6. Engine warm-up operation
The engine and hydraulic oil should be fully warmed up before starting operation. Check that the measuring

instrument is working properly.

7. Don't dig too close to the locomotive

In an emergency, keep the crawler locomotive at right angles to the shoulder, and then start the rear motor of

the locomotive and slowly move away from danger.

8. Don't let the bucket pass over the cab

For safety, do not let the bucket with earth and stone pass over the person or the cab.

9. Stop the operation immediately when a mechanical anomaly is found

(1) If the mechanical condition is found to be abnormal during operation, stop the operation immediately and then perform troubleshooting.

(2) Use this machine after inspection.

10. The "open work" mining method is very dangerous

Do not dig under the hanging mountain. This is a dangerous operation that may cause the mountain to collapse or the rock to fall.

11. Work on the slope

When working on a slope, the stability of the machine can be greatly affected, so be careful.

(1) Try not to flip the bucket down as much as possible.

(2) Maintain the level of the locomotive foundation when operating on a slope.

12. Do not overload the locomotive

(l) Operation beyond the mechanical performance range may result in damage to the mechanism and cause injury or death to the operator.

(2) Please operate within the performance range of the machine.

13. ventilation

(1) Engine exhaust is a dangerous gas.

(2) When constructing indoors, tunnels or underground areas with poor ventilation, ventilation measures should be

taken when starting the engine to prevent gas poisoning.

14. Confirm ground safety

(1) Confirm that the ground or road is sufficiently strong and there is no danger of collapse due to mechanical weight and vibration.

(2) In snow and ice weather, it is difficult to identify because the ground is covered, so be careful.

(3) After the rain, the suspended shore, the pit and the shoulder are soft, the mechanical vibration or the weight of the fuselage will cause the earth to collapse, and should be far away from the above location.

(4) The unevenness of the ground state will affect the stability of the mechanical operation, and the locomotive should be operated in a flat position as much as possible.

15. Use of broken head

(1) When a crushing head is required, the operator must have a certificate of completion (demolition use) for driving the construction vehicle technical training.

(2) The installation of the crushing head may cause cattle safety hazards or cause mechanical failure and reduce the service life of the locomotive. Please contact your dealer or service office for advice.

(3) Set the pressure of the safety valve and the engine speed, and carry out the necessary reinforcement of the accessories.

(4) Please read the instructions in the manual on the broken head chapter carefully and carefully, so as not to cause damage to the excavator fuselage or broken head.

(5) When not operating the crushing head, do not put your foot on the operating pedal. Inadvertently stepping on the broken head will start, which is dangerous.

16. Use of the split chuck

Installation of the ejector pin may create a safety hazard or cause mechanical failure and reduce the service life of

the locomotive. Please contact your dealer or service office for advice. The self-weight of the disassembling head is

large, which will affect the stability of the locomotive. There may be a risk of the vehicle body tipping over when

swinging on the slope. In addition, even if you try to stop the rotation, inertia will delay the execution of the

operation. Please carry out the necessary attachment reinforcement.

17. Lifting operation with hook bucket

Before starting the operation, check and confirm the hook for cracks, deformation or other abnormalities.

Before starting the operation, check the lifting gear, such as wire rope or chain.

A dedicated lifting hook is required for the lifting operation.

Reduce the engine speed and operate the lever slowly. Especially to slowly turn.

Do not allow others to stay under the lifting bucket.

18. Check driving directions

Driving directions should be checked in advance. When the locomotive is driving to a certain place with limited

visibility, the driver should be sent to give the necessary signal indication. In addition, the weight limit of the

bridge should be verified before passing the bridge.

19. Inspection before the locomotive

Before the locomotive travels, first check the direction of the drive gear and the cab, then start the operation.

20. Driving time

When driving, choose a flat ground as much as possible.

Driving should avoid obstacles, poles and buildings.

When driving on frozen or snow-covered ground, pay attention to the strength of the ground and whether it is

slipping.

21. Uphill and downhill

When driving a locomotive up and down, the driving direction should be parallel to the maximum slope direction,

and it is dangerous to go up and down along the diagonal direction.

Steering on the slope may cause the locomotive to slip or tip over. If it is required for the work, it can only be

carried out on a slope with a hard ground and a small slope.

When driving on a hillside, the speed should be slowed down and the bucket should be kept 20 to 30 cm above the

level. When the locomotive is not stable, stop the locomotive and place the bucket on the ground.
